Happy Birthday America

When you ladies woke up today we told you that it was a holiday, and you said "a birthday".  Daddy said, well sort of, today is the 4th of July and it is America birthday.  You ladies then started to sing happy birthday to America.  Grandma was coming over and we were hoping that the weather was nice so we could go swimming and we got our wish, it was a beautiful day today.  Before Grandma arrived you ladies helped daddy put the American flag out.

You ladies showed off your swimming skills to grandma.  While you ladies were swimming I was busy making some yummy snacks, I mean was the the 4th of July without watermelon???

After some swimming you took a snack break to have some strawberries and watermelon stars and then you went for the big slices.

Peggy and Chris came over and brought you "squirt" the turtle from Finding Nemo so that you could play with it in the pool.  You showed them how you could jump in the water and how high you could fly when daddy threw you up in the air.

Before Peggy and Chris left, they took some family pictures of us in the pool.  It was nice to be able to be in some of the pictures.

While you ladies were napping, mommy went out to find some sparklers for later.  It turned out to be a little harder than I expected, but I did find some.

We had an impromptu photo shoot when you got up from your nap.  The tops that you ladies are wearing were your first 4th of July dresses that Ms. Ginger bought for you.

Emma doesn't think she like 4th of July
After dinner we went for a walk around the street to get some fresh air.  It had stopped raining so it was really nice out.  We went to see the flag again and walked up and down the street.

When we were done with our walk, we decided to try out the sparklers.  I was not sure how you ladies would react, but you LOVED them!!!!

Once we used up all the sparklers we went in and had cupcakes...it was a birthday after all.  It was a great day.  Daddy said next year would could try out other fireworks, and maybe even go see some!
